Video

Hi everybody, it's crystal so how's, everybody doing today.

I have some pretty cool yarn.

Well, I don't even know if it's cool.

So it looks really interesting all right.

So, uh, one of my fellow youtube fans here, fellow fiber, fanatic sent me an email and told me about this yarn store.

Thank you.

I always appreciate when people do that they send me yarn stores.

Sometimes I buy from them.

Sometimes I don't.

It really just depends on like shipping costs where they're located, and if whether or not I bought from them before, but I had never even heard of this type of yarn before.

So I was like that's, cool, it's it's kind of a novelty yarn.

But I like, I like some novelty, yarns so it's called jelly yarns, perhaps some of you have heard of it.

I have not but I'm, super excited to open it up.

So I ordered it on a may 28th.

And today is six one.

Now you have to remember it went over the memorial day weekend.

So it was very fast shipping.

They shipped the same day that I ordered it.

And it is located in southampton.

Pennsylvania, and it came to my house in illinois.

So let's see, if you go to their website, they just have a jelly yarn different colors, glow-in-the-dark, sparkly, um, they have a 15 coupon code that you can use right at the very top free shipping on 75 or more in the us.

You can use the code free ship.

I guess or use a 15 off, whichever would be cheaper.

I I would imagine.

And it says, international orders.

They do ship, but you need to see the special instructions on how to order those uh tells you where to go to look at those anyways.

They don't got a lot of yarn like I said, it's, like the same type of yarn it's, jelly, yarn, never heard of it let's check it out let's open.

It up.

I'm.

Pretty I'm pretty excited about this.

One.

Some parents I, you know, I'm so I'm excited about every year.

Of course, but some I get a little bit more excited than others, especially if it's interesting and intriguing.

Now this one is quite interesting I'm, kind of getting a sense that it's going to be plasticky.

Yes, pretty pretty pretty much.

I think so they have like three weights and bulky weights different colors.

And and you just have to check them out, no, but it's only one type of yarn there.

So oh my gosh peanuts packing peanuts.

I haven't seen these forever.

Hope it's, I haven't seen anybody use those forever? I can't wait to get all of those all over the house.

I throw them in a box in a box, but I'm, not just throwing on my on my desk.

But if the box wasn't there, yeah, I would be throwing them on my desk all right.

Okay, that's it that's.

It that's it.

Um.

All right.

It is very very heavy for that.

I have, uh, six balls here, three balls of two different colors, invoice.

So, okay.

So let's, look at it.

Okay, so I got three, oh three, pink ones and three, oh they're.

Pink ones that glow in the dark it's kind of like what I thought it would be plasticky, yummy yarns, jelly, yarn for knitting and crochet, bulky peppermint, pink, huh.

Okay.

And this one is it don't really smell like anything.

I thought for a minute I'm like does this smell like peppermint, it really don't smell like much of anything kind of like a plastic, but you know, not nothing off-putting or anything it's, not very it's, very faint and this.

Okay.

So that's.

This one it's a bulky style, um, 100, vinyl is what is what it is? 65 yards, 60 meters or yeah, 180 grams yarn is not edible it's, good to know, um, you know, and I could see how they would have to put that because it looks like that red vine licorice, kind of if it was red it's, what it looks like almost, and it feels like that, too almost not quite as stiff, but that that's really kind of smart, um to put that on there.

I guess black light glow.

So this one is a black light glows in the dark black light glows.

I wonder if it glows in the dark under regular leds or whatever and black light we're going to have to check them out we're going to have to I'll bust.

It I'll bring out the black light we'll check that out in a minute.

So it says for knitting needle, you should use a six millimeter and a four crochet.

It says, a j, five and a half about a j is a six millimeter.

Okay, so that was a pink it's very much like I thought, very plasticky.

Then you think probably like what are you gonna do? What do you do with the yarn like that? Well, you got to be creative.

I did see on their website where they had made some things with it like coasters and dog, collars and rugs and stuff like that.

Um, I was thinking that I would probably make a pretty cool strong beach bag.

You know what you know what I mean.

And this one is called honey, gold, it's, sparkly.

And it is 65 yards.

60 meters, 100 grams, 100, vinyl.

Um.

This is a little bit thinner.

This is a for best results use a metal needle metal needles or hook to help stitches glide apply hand, salvo or lotion.

Interesting I'm gonna have to uh check this out.

It seems, um, yeah, that I smell my yarns.

I always used to smell my arms.

And then people thought I was a weirdo, so I quit doing it, but since I got that premiere, and it was real hardcore.

I'm gonna have to start doing it again and make sure none of them smell too too bad.

No, this one's, fine it's, it's, really it's.

Interesting.

I think this is a lighter way, it's, not a bulky.

So it is a bulky.

Okay, bulky, bulky they're.

Both bulky, it does seem a little thinner though if you look at them, I guess they don't.

It does a little bit.

But now this one doesn't feel quite as stiff as this one let's break them out let's, see what this says, oh, it comes with something else, jelly yarn salve.

Oh, they give you stuff to put on your hook to make it work out.

Easy.

Man.

This seam, I don't know if it'll hurt my hands or whatnot, but I'm gonna give it a go to help jelly yarn glide for crochet, apply a hand, salve or hand lotion to your hook and along the strand to help the yarn glide for knitters.

Same thing, jelly yarns.com for knitting and crocheting cool.

Cool? Cool.

Let me check to solve stuff out real quick, try not to make my video too long, but it smells like, uh, carmax that stuff you put you put on your lips, that's, what it smells like.

But it says, beeswax almond oil made in the usa.

Okay.

Where's.

This yarn made at made in the usa.

Cool cool.

Let's.

Look at it I'm going to open one up we're going to test out the crocheting we're going to test out the black light and the regular light and we're going to just put her to the test I'll use it without the solve.

And with the salve and see which one is easier.

Okay, I'm going to open a pink one and I'm going to open a gold one.

So we can check them out.

They are quite interesting to tell you the truth.

Okay.

So it's centered.

But the center pool ball.

Everybody likes this interval to see how easy it is to break.

You know that was kind of how like a pig like I expected to be like a stretchy piece of candy kind of.

Yeah, okay.

I got a six mil right here.

I do I always got a six-month, I don't even know what it took, but I have a six millimeter.

Let's, try it out and see how easy I'm, not gonna put no salve on it.

First I'm, just this is like something fun to play with isn't it.

What am I gonna make with this? Some coasters would be really cool.

Crochet is kind of.

I mean, I'm, not having no trouble with mine going on with I'm, not using any oil or self seems to be crocheting.

Okay, you know, this would be good.

Maybe for I don't know, like it shows cut, it shows coasters and rugs, and I guess placemats.

And I don't know, maybe halloween costumes.

And like I said, a bag would be pretty cool, especially since you know, this could get wet and it wouldn't hurt it because it's, like it says, vinyl so that's, what it says it's, interesting, very novelty, but very like cool, novelty, you see I'm having no trouble with it I'm, not even having to add any oils, or any of that whatever stuff they gave me carmax stuff to it.

Uh seems to be gliding.

Just fine for me, it is very interesting.

What would you make with this that is it it's it's got stretch to it.

So I don't know, I keep smelling it.

I don't know why it doesn't, it doesn't smell like anything other than then like kind of like plasticky, but it's, very subtle, but it's cool.

It is it's interesting to me, but it's, just the I would have to be really creative to think of something other than you know, the bag that I said, I could probably make a bag out of it, but it's interesting to see new yarns that you've never seen before so I'm having no trouble crocheting with the sparkly one.

I didn't have to put any of that oil on here.

So it seems to be working out.

Okay, it's not hard to crochet with not hurting my hands.

This one looks like it's, like I said, it does look a little thicker.

But this is supposed to be the glow-in-the-dark black light.

So, okay, interesting it's intriguing to me.

All right? I have no problem crocheting with it it's, not hurting my hands.

Well so far and I'm, not having to use any of their oil waste since so I mean, it's, gliding, okay, for me crocheting this just fine, hey, guess what it's not splitting us? That's a joke, it's, not splitting that's, just a joke because we know it wouldn't split.

This is cool.

Man, it's cool.

But you know, you just gotta think of something special for it.

I might make a bag out of it.

But I don't know if I'd want to make my dog or collar out of it, truthfully, I don't think clark would like it clark don't even like to wear collars.

He only has where's one when he goes to the vet that's it.

Oh, when he goes on a walk, hmm, okay.

So I have crocheted with a little bit that that.

Um, sparkly.

One was a little easier to crochet with than this one.

This one isn't hard, I haven't had to put no wheel on my hook, but I can see, maybe it could hurt your hands.

Maybe after a while, maybe not but I'm thinking that it might.

But boy is it interesting I'm gonna grab a black light check it out? Okay? So, well, you got what would you do with that if you have that it's really cool? And you know that would make some neat coasters too, honestly, there's, some single crochet coasters or some round double crochet, coasters or all right? Let me charge it up under my regular light.

And then I'll shut my lights off and we'll see if it works under regular lights and then I'll bring in a black light we'll, see how it glows underneath that? Okay, okay.

So I have all my lights off, but one and I'm gonna set the this under my one light and then we'll turn the lights off and see if it works under this type of light, or if it's a specifically black light, because it says glow in the dark on one side.

And then it says, black like glow on the other.

So I have no idea.

I'm guessing, it's gonna be blacklight only, but I could be wrong.

I don't know, it's, intriguing.

All right here we go.

Oh, I gotta shut.

My light off real quick.

Just a second I'm gonna turn right off, oh, my look at that, it's cool.

So it works under that.

I wonder how long it stays glowing for I'm going to turn the camera off and I'll see how long it stays glowing before I get my blacklight.

Okay.

So it's been about three minutes and then it's losing its glow.

But it is still glowing here's.

The other ones on the that I didn't even put in the light at all they're glowing a bit.

The sparkling one does not glow, but I knew that it wouldn't, but yeah, it's still glowing.

It did lose its glow a bit, but I didn't know more of a light below.

Yeah, well, I mean, I turned that light on right there for me a little bit that big one, yeah, oh my goodness.

So I didn't hold it under there for real long anyway, is that impressive? I guess I've seen some glow in the dark just die after like 10 seconds.

So now we're going to attach it under a black light.

Ready here.

It goes black light on.

Yep, oh, that's.

Cool.

Look at that here you hold it over there and look at the speckle in my look at the yarn glowing on my shelf back there that is very neat this.

This one is the gold.

It does not glow.

But this pink one does glows orange great for the club that is super cool.

Look at your shirt, glowing what's that you want to throw myself going white yarn, I don't know, anyways.

So, huh.

Let's get them out of here.

Hey, wait all right.

Go break your black light all right, I'm gonna turn that backlight off.

How do you turn it off? Oh, well, it's.

Okay, all right.

So that's.

That's.

It did.

I even tell you how much it cost? I didn't.

So they are 7.99 a ball.

Both of them were the sparkle one was and the pink one.

So I think it's neat, but it's, very novelty.

So you'll have to have something very, you know, something in mind.

I think, um, it did glow in the black light.

It was pretty dang cool.

And it did glow in the regular light.

But I I, you know, I held it up there a little longer than I thought it would, but it really glue.

Well in the black light, um, I don't think that I think for a novelty yarn, yeah, I don't know, but you know, yarn, it's always worth what you'll pay for it.

So there you go, but I think it's cool.

And I think it's interesting now all the yarn will I buy it again.

I don't know it just really depends on if I try, you know, if I try to make a bag out of this or some place or coasters or something, and they turn out super cool, or I can think of something really neat and interesting and to make out of it.

I might because I, you know, um, be good to decorate with.

I guess just glow in the dark one.

I don't know, halloween costumes or whatever you want.

Well, I just want to introduce you to a new yarn.

And thank you to who, uh, the person who told me about this.

This is it jelly, yarn, not affiliated.

I bought these.

And I did get the 15 off, though coupon that I used so there it is, I think it's cool.

I like the blacklight I'm gonna go.

Thanks everybody for watching.

Okay, remember these glow orange, but they are pink check it out jelly, yarns.com, it's, pretty cool, but remember it's vinyl so it's plasticky.

But that is cool.

Bye.
