The Ebac 3850e dehumidifier is one of the company's most popular machines - and for good reason. It's the only Ebac machine to break into our list of the top best dehumidifiers of 2024and one of our top recommendations if you needa whole house model.

The 3850e is has a capacity of 21 litres per day. This is one of the highest available for domestic dehumidifiers and it'scapable of reducinghumidity in four or five bedroom houses.

Like most Ebac models, it includes a proportionate control system. While many dehumidifiers come with systems to adjust energy usage depending on the humidity, the 3850e has been specifically optimised for the UK climate.

It's also able to detect changes caused by bathing, making tea, weather or cooking, and then decide whether the machine should be turned on or off. This reduces energy usage. You also don't need to constantly worry about whether to switch it on.

As you might expect from a premium machine, it is excellent at extracting water - especially from warmer rooms. It also has a timer and a clothes drying mode.

The biggest downside is the weight. While Ebac claims it's ergonomically designed, it weighs a heavy 13kg. This means it's not easy to move around the home - especially as it only comes with recesses as handles.

We are also disappointed that the water tank is just 2.5 litres. Be prepared to empty this often if you have a damp house. As it's capable of removing moisture throughout a four or five bedroom home, we would have liked a larger tank.

Overall, the Ebac 3850e is an excellent dehumidifier. It's great at extracting water, has an attractive design and LED display, along with several useful extras such as a clothes drying function and timer. It might have been a contender for our "best dehumidifier" badge with a larger tank - but it's still a great option.

If you're looking for an Ebac dehumidifier but don't want to spend £200+, the 2650e is an option to consider. It didn't quite make our top 10 list - but is still a solidmodel that's been highly rated by buyers.

With an 18 litre per day extraction capacity, the2650e packs enough power to dehumidify three or four bedroom homes. For larger homes we recommend spending a bit extra and getting the 3850e. We like that the 2650e has a larger 3.5 litre water tank though.

Like other Ebac models, it includes the"Smart Control" system. Ebac claims that this can save up to £50 per year in electricity. The system also has an "auto" mode. This allows you to "set and forget" the dehumidifier and let it switch on when needed.

It's been designed to work effectively in the British climate and can effectively remove moisture down to 3 degrees Celsius. This is impressive for a refrigerant model, as this type usually works best in warmer conditions. Lower temperatures greatly reduce its efficiency though.

Other features include an air purification mode, for removing smoke and pollen, and an auto shut-off feature when full. The machine has two fan settings and an integrated handle.

One feature that's missing from the 2650e is a laundry drying mode. It's also relatively loud at 46dB, although it's certainly not the noisiest dehumidifier on the market. There have been reports on shopping sites of the machine breaking down within the warranty period - butthe majority of buyers appear happy with their purchase.

We think the Ebac 2650e is a solid dehumidifier. It's not perfect - we would have likeda clothes drying mode and quieter operation - but it's powerful and has a reasonably large water tank. We also like that it's optimised for the UK climate, which isn't the case with many other brands.

The Ebac 3650e is the "little brother" of the 3850e listed above. It includes many of the same features, but has a lower capacity and correspondingly lower price. If you like the look of the 3850e but don't need21 litre capacity it's an excellent alternative.

While the 18 litre extraction capacity is lower than the 2850e, it's still enough for three or four bedroom houses. Be prepared to empty it regularly though - the 2.5 litre capacity is relatively small.

Like other Ebac dehumidifiers, it's designed to be energy efficient. It comes with the same "Smart" system as the other two models on this list, which means it only turns on when it detects the humidity requires it. The Intelligent Defrost system also suspends operation when temperatures drop too quickly, allowing the coils to defrost faster.

Other features include a full indicator and shut-off system, LED control panel (which isn't found on older Ebac models) and two fan speeds. The water container is front loading, which helps to prevent spillages when emptying the machine.

Like its big brother, the main downsides are that it's heavy and noisy. At 13kg, it's certainly not a lightweight or portable model.
